The Memorial Day Transcript

Narrator: The morning air is still. Before us sits the bronze Battlefield Cross—the boots, the rifle, the helmet. Marty, Woody, and our newest addition, Jazzy, sit side-by-side in perfect alignment, staring intently at the monument.

Marty (The Senior Scout): (Deep, calm, wise tone) Look at the boots, Woody. Look at the helmet. That’s the Battlefield Cross. I’ve been around the block long enough to know what that stands for. It means someone stood their post until the very end. As dogs, we pride ourselves on loyalty to our pack. But humans… the brave ones who wore that gear… they showed a kind of loyalty that protects the whole country. We sit tight here out of pure respect.

Woody (The Tactical Guard): (Earnest, alert, focused tone) Copy that, Marty. My eyes are locked right on it. Usually, I’m scanning the perimeter, looking for the next backyard adventure. But right now? I’m standing at attention. Seeing the flag behind us and this bronze tribute right in front of us makes you realize how quiet and safe our yard really is because of their sacrifice. It’s an honor to guard this spot today.

Jazzy (The Puppy): (Young, curious, but respectful tone) Marty? Woody? I know I’m just the new puppy, and I’m still learning the ropes around the yard. But looking at this, it feels really important. The plaque says, “With loyalty and remembrance, we honor your final sacrifice.” Does remembrance mean we never forget them, even if we didn’t know them?

Marty: You got it, little sis. It means that as long as we’re here to look at that flag, we remember the ones who gave everything so we could live in peace. Gone, but never, ever forgotten.

Narrator: On this Memorial Day, from our family and the entire team at KDStoss LLC to yours, we wish you a meaningful day of reflection. Take a moment today to look at the heroes who left empty boots behind, and join us in honoring their final sacrifice.
